Messages from your Nervous System ...

Your nervous system is constantly scanning your environment for signs that you are safe, and that includes scanning other people, just as their nervous system is scanning you. When you get that 'sixth sense' or 'gut feeling' about someone, that's your nervous system picking up on cues of threat or safety, below your level of consciousness. So what signals are you sending out to other people? When you are grounded, centered, emotionally regulated, you'll be sending out cues of safety. If you work with children and young people, you will want them to feel safe above all else, and the first place to start is with the messages from your own nervous system.
